Residential Water Testing
Certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS), Environmental Systems Service, Ltd. (ESS) tests drinking water for clients purchasing a new home, drilling a new well, or various other purposes. Focusing on sample integrity and quality procedures, ESS provides accurate results in a timely manner.
To ensure proper sample collection, resulting in quality results, ESS provides instructions, and sample collection containers with proper preservatives to all customers. Additionally, ESS adheres to a strict chain of custody procedure from the sample receipt through the testing and result phases, to ensure that proper holding times and temperatures were maintained, and the most accurate results possible were obtained. ESS is certified by the Virginia DCLS for the drinking water analysis of the following:
- Coliform Bacteria
- pH
- Conductivity
- Turbidity
- Alkalinity
- Hardness
- Total Dissolved Solids
- Chloride
- Fluoride
- Sulfate
- Orthophosphate
- Nitrite
- Nitrate
- Lead
The normal turn-around time for results varies based upon the testing required and the incubation period. Coliform results for a new home loan or new home well are typically available the next business day; results for additional parameters are usually available in less than ten days. Sample collection or pick-up is also available at an additional charge.
