Our goal is to serve our customers with quality testing and operations while minimizing the risk to all. Company-wide, ESS is following the recommended guidelines for prevention. In addition to thorough cleaning and sanitizing of the work and common areas, our employees are practicing preventative measures to stop the spread of this and any other flu type viruses. Ways to minimize the risks and spread include limiting person to person contact, restricting travel, and requesting that any employees with fever or respiratory symptoms stay home.
During this time, we will temporarily change the sample receiving process to reduce contact and follow the distancing guidelines. All samples will be received at the door and directions will be posted. The goal is to have a “no contact” or “minimal contact” procedure in place to prevent the spread or potential exposure. Likewise, we request that anyone bringing samples to the laboratory be free of the flu or COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough or sneezing. We view our laboratory services as essential to many customers and our goal is to keep all employees healthy so we can continue to provide uninterrupted service. Depending on the ongoing changes and mandates, our courier services may change or be discontinued and if that should happen, customers will be notified. We also recommend that you monitor the UPS, USPS and Fed-Ex operations if you send in samples through one of those methods. Turn-around times may vary during this period based on staff availability and no rush services are available at this time. If you have large “special projects” that are not time-sensitive, we ask that you consider sending those after the main threat of the Coronavirus has passed and schedules have resumed normalcy. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unusual circumstances.
Our contract operational services will continue as normal while following any CDC or government recommendations. Due to this rapidly evolving situation, we will continually re-evaluate our services as needed based on staff availability and access.
