Environmental Testing

The ESS Environmental Laboratory serves both private business and municipalities with regulatory and permit testing. The lab is equipped to perform microbiological and chemical testing associated with water, wastewater, and soil samples. As a VELAP certified laboratory, there is a great emphasis on quality control and data integrity so clients can be confident in their results. Located in Culpeper, VA, the ESS Environmental Laboratory is staffed and managed by a team of chemists, biologists, and environmental scientists with a focus on customer service.

Frequent analyses include:

• Coliforms, Total and Fecal
• E. coli – Most Probable Number & Presence/Absence
• Demand (BOD, CBOD & COD)
• Solids (TSS, TDS & MLSS/VSS)
• Inorganics / Wet Chemistry (including Ammonia, TKN, Phosphorus, Nitrite + Nitrate, Fluoride, Hardness & Alkalinity)

Sample integrity is of utmost importance from the point of collection through the reporting of results. Please refer to our Resources page for a sample Chain of Custody and instructions for packaging samples.
