Stormwater Programs
The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Program regulates stormwater discharges from three potential sources: municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s), construction activities, and industrial activities. This permitting mechanism is designed to prevent stormwater runoff from washing harmful pollutants into local surface waters such as streams, rivers, lakes, or coastal waters.
The ability to understand and work with regulatory agencies on compliance issues is critical to protecting the client and their interests. Recognizing the need to streamline regulatory issues and permit compliance, ESS has a staff of environmental scientists, biologists, and sampling technicians that help clients meet stormwater program compliance to include:
- Permitting
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) / Storm Water Management Plans (SWMP)
- Mapping
- Inspections
- Monitoring Programs
- Sampling
- Reporting
- Training
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan (SPCC), if applicable
Recent and pending changes to storm water permit requirements can have a big impact on meeting compliance. Contact info@ess-services.com for help assessing your storm water program needs.
To compliment our environmental services and assist the client in complete compliance, ESS maintains two certified laboratories.
